Fluid–Structure Interaction Simulation of a Coriolis Mass Flowmeter Using a Lattice Boltzmann Method

In this paper, we use a fluid–structure interaction (FSI) approach to simulate Coriolis mass flowmeter (CMF). The fluid dynamics is calculated by the open-source framework OpenLB, based on lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). For structural employ software Elmer, an implementation of finite element (FEM). A staggered coupling between two packages presented. mesh created generator Gmsh ensure complete open source workflow. Eigenmodes CMF, which are modal analysis, compared with measurement data. Using estimated excitation frequency, fully coupled, partitioned, FSI simulation applied phase shift investigated CMF design. values in good agreement data and verify suitability model numerically describe working principle CMF.
